Savvy Shopping

Furnishing a new home from scratch is exciting but also expensive if you have taste for the finer things. To keep a control on finances we agree on an ideal budget with a client before pulling a scheme together. With that figure in mind there is some strategic planning to make the most of those funds. It’s a golden era for what is available on the high street right now and we used that to our advantage

By shopping in Ikea, Made and West Elm as well as finding vintage items at Vinterior we were able to splash out on some special pieces and fabrics from Lelievre and Phillip Jeffries. As wallpaper and curtains are easily seen and are on larger scale than say a coffee table that is low and covered in things we gained maximum impact.

Have a look at the spread sheet to see where and how much money we spent to furnish this three-bedroom apartment in fairly lavish style. As well as purchasing there was some minor building works, extra wiring and simple Audio Visual equipment. Making the best of the budget the apartment is not needing anything else and we’ve given a brand new flat some character and personality. All the furniture is a of good quality, will last them for years and is classic enough not to date. And, of course we didn’t scrimp on the mattress quality.
