Joan of Arc is standing proud at the top of the deep purple hallway. The pendant light is sourced from the high-street. The bench legs are hand-turned and above is an old oak coat rack.
Antique armoire has been updated with a bright yellow interior. The hallway is reflected in the giant bevelled mirror. The little boxes are a convenient place to dump keys.
Who couldn't resist putting a window seat in that glorious bay window, under which is a large drawer to store all the books that are going to be read there.
The alcoves are padded in felt to suppress sound. The chimney breast has been left raw. A vintage G Plan chair has appeared in a number of our projects.
The bronze and satin brass chandelier reflects in the convex mirror. The rectangles on the coffee table are the same size as magazines.
The bases of the side tables are made of breeze blocks and those lights on top are from...wait for it, yes, British Home Stores!
The inspiration for this room is the flower print with the colours being repeated throughout the room. The bespoke wardrobes are discreet and the bedside tables are an eBay find.
There is a certain refinement and yet rawness to this room by using overscaled brick-red velvet headboard, marbled papers and handblown pendants with hand painted floor boards.
Bespoke joinery which is designed to look as if it's floating in the room. The door fronts look like raw linen but they're not.
We set the table with help from Summerill & Bishop. The artwork is created by us and is a collection of 'La Vache qui rit' with one naughty pink one, can you spot her?
We made sure the chairs were comfortable as the French tend to linger there for a long time.
We tartied up the old kitchen with new paints and stains and a few repairs.
Let’s now hope the house god is happy.

Designers Statement
